Travel by Air Druk Air, the Royal Bhutan national airline, is the only way to enter and exit Bhutan by airplane. Druk Air has a fleet of two Air Bus 319 with a capacity to accommodate 114 passengers. Flight schedules vary according to seasons. Druk Air operates additional flights during the peak travel seasons.
In the interest of ease and convenience, we handles the whole booking process on behalf of our guests, including flights reservation but it is advisable to book well in advance to secure accommodation and seats on Druk Air.

Druk Air Tickets Please note that although Journey to Discover Bhutan is to authorized to purchase tickets on behalf of our guests, Druk Air has a no refund policy and that Druk Air fares are subject to change. You may re-schedule for up to one year from date of purchase if the purchase date falls during high season. We are happy to assist in the purchase of Druk Air tickets as a service. On receipt of payment for the full fare, guest will be sent a copy of E-ticket via email.
Guests Flying via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport The Druk Air check-in desk at the new Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International airport is at Row W at the far end of the concourse, to save time ask your driver to drop you at that end.
Guests Flying via India All passengers flying to and from Bhutan via Calcutta or Delhi must apply for an Indian Visa prior to their departure if they intend to stay overnight – if they remain in transit no Indian visa is required
Travel by Land: Bhutan is also accessible by land through Phuentsholing, located on the southwestern border of India. The road from Bagdogra, the nearest Indian airport, to Phuentsholing takes approximately four hours. Entry and exit to Bhutan by road also provides an opportunity to tourists desiring to visit the neighboring Indian States of Sikkim and West Bengal.
